THE GRAZZL
The GrAZzl: 3-Day Gravel Stage Race
Arizona’s first-ever gravel stage race — offering TEAM and INDIVIDUAL options. Hosted at Village Camp Flagstaff, The GrAZzl blends competition, community, and chaos (the good kind) into one unforgettable weekend.
Riders can enter solo or as part of a team, racing across three unique stages that showcase the grit, beauty, and high-altitude terrain of Northern Arizona.
Each stage delivers its own flavor — from tactical sprints to all-day epics — and every finish brings the Village back together for food, music, and firelight.
Complete all three stages to earn a shot at the GrAZzl Champion title — or mix and match for a weekend of pure gravel fun.
DAY ONE TT
DAY ONE - GRAVEL TIME TRIALS
Short, sharp, and strategic — The Time Trial is where precision meets power. Riders will tackle three timed segments separated by neutral rollouts, testing their ability to recover, refocus, and go full gas when it counts.
Each timed section offers a different flavor — a climb, a flat hammer, and a fast descent — designed to challenge every strength in the book. The combined times from all segments determine the stage results, so smart pacing and timing your efforts are key.
It’s a race within a race — part strategy, part sufferfest, and 100% GrAZzl.
Format: 3 timed segments | Neutral rollouts between stages | Lowest total time wins.
Category Options: Individual, Team Combined, or Team Collective.
DAY two classic
DAY TWO- CLASSIC GRAVEL
The soul of The GrAZzl — a 60-mile gravel grind through Northern Arizona’s rugged backroads, pine forests, and high-desert beauty.
This is the queen stage: long climbs, sweeping descents, and those signature Arizona views that make every mile worth the effort. Riders will tackle a mix of terrain — fast-rolling forest roads, chunky climbs, and open stretches built for grit and glory.
It’s a true test of endurance and strategy, where pacing, nutrition, and mental toughness separate the legends from the rest.
Format: 60-mile single-day race. Fastest cumulative time wins.
Category Options: Individual, Team Combined, or Team Collective.
DAY three circuit
DAY THREE- GRAVEL CIRCUIT
A fast and tactical 5-mile loop that’s all about consistency, teamwork, and grit. Riders will complete as many laps as possible within a 2-hour limit — every turn, climb, and corner counts.
This stage rewards endurance and smart pacing: go out too hard, and you’ll fade; ride it right, and you’ll find your rhythm. Expect punchy climbs, smooth descents, and plenty of spectator energy as riders loop through the Village each lap.
Format: Most laps completed in 2 hours wins.
Category Options: Individual, Team Combined, or Team Collective.
